Harker School Event Center Achieves LEED Gold

As of April 2019, Integral Group is proud to share that the Harker School Theater has been Certified LEED Gold with a total of 66 points. Together with the Gymnasium, both buildings in the Event Center are now LEED Gold Certified.

The Harker School Gym in San Jose received LEED-NC v2009 Gold certification with a total of 72 points. Part of an overall multipurpose event center, this 33,000 ft² facility provides students with training spaces, dance studios, locker rooms for team sports, and therapy rooms with cold/hot pools and an underwater treadmill. Sustainability features include a photovoltaic system which was implemented to create energy efficiency and reduce energy use from the grid.

The gym and new theater is highly energy efficient, including a 140-kilowatt photovoltaic system to keep the buildings about 25% off the grid. Integral Group provided full electrical design services as well as LEED consulting, energy modeling, photovoltaic consulting, lighting design and daylighting design services working closely with Studio Bondy Architecture.
