Wellbeing Strategist Eminè Mehmet Joins Sydney Office
As a proponent and key contributor of the WELL Building Standard™ from its inception, Integral Group is excited to expand our reach and now bring this knowledge local, and is proud to welcome Eminè Mehmet, Wellbeing Strategist, to our Sydney practice. With over 20 years’ experience in the building industry as a designer, project manager, sustainability advocate, writer and speaker, Eminè is known as the go to person for wellbeing in the built environment.
“For over three years, I have applied my expansive knowledge and expertise of the built environment and people into the wellbeing space as a strategist. Wellbeing is not just about physical health. It’s more holistic then that, taking into consideration the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental wellbeing of a person” says Eminè.
Integral Group worked on the WELL Building Standard™ with The International WELL Building Institute, Delos and its partners at Cleveland and Mayo Clinics. Integral Group provided technical expertise on specific pilot project audits and continues to review the standard. The WELL Building Standard™ is comprised of several categories of Wellness that, when working together, describe ideal conditions for health and well-being including; Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Sound, Thermal Comfort, Materials, Mind and Community. Experience on projects such as MNP Office Tower, CBRE Office and Vancouver Centre has provided a greater understanding of applying WELL™ requirements and referenced standards to overall project design.
Integral Group aims to showcase how the built environment can truly support health and well-being, through third-party certification or holistic sustainability and wellness consulting. We work with leaders in the industry, promoting well-being and productivity in the pursuit of excellence in sustainability across projects of all scales and types. Recognizing our role in advancing the progress of the building sector through our deep green engineering approach, we work with project teams to develop truly sustainable and engaging spaces for future building occupants, incorporating innovative design while addressing enhanced occupant comfort, physical and mental health.
Eminè elaborates “I believe it’s truly possible to create environments that support the healing process for occupants, but to do that, first, as a profession, we must understand people. In other words, we must first understand ourselves.”
Eminè is a WELL Accredited Professional, a member of the coveted WELL Faculty, Fitwel Ambassador and a GSAP delivering WELL Projects, WELL Training and Wellbeing Topics to the industry on a regular basis and has worked for companies such as Woods Bagot and Meriton.
