Oakland, California – (October 30, 2019) – Kevin Hydes, Integral Group’s Founder and CEO receives a 2019 Leadership Award from the U.S. Green Building Council

Kevin will be recognized at the USGBC Leadership Awards Ceremony taking place on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 during the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Atlanta.

“Our Leadership Award recipients remind us that taking action – big or small – has the power to change lives and promote a higher living standard for us all,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO of USGBC. “Each of these awardees made commitments to improve our world through the power of green building. Their actions are an inspiration and show us that our collective efforts can lead to meaningful change that moves us closer to our vision of buildings, communities and cities that regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life.”

Kevin’s connection to the Green Building Council movement spans nearly 20 years. He is the former Chair of the USGBC and World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), past Chair of the Cascadia Chapter, a Co-Founder of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC), and served on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Chapter of the USGBC, for which he was also a founding Board Member. Through his work on these initiatives, Kevin has helped shape legislative policy that encourages an environmentally-sound built environment. In 2012, Kevin was named a LEED Fellow by the USGBC.

“My relationship with the USGBC is a personal one. I’ve helped to start chapters and have attended every Greenbuild. My daughter Eliza attended her first Greenbuild at six weeks old in Austin and will attend with me again in this year in Atlanta,” said Kevin. “This is why we are all here –– it’s imperative that we individually and collectively take action now to save our planet for future generations. Those of us in leadership positions have a moral responsibility to act.”
