Sofitel Hotel St. James

The Sofitel St. James is a 186 bed luxury hotel situated in the cultural heart of London. The project required the conversion and extension of the historic, grade II listed, former headquarters of Cox and Kings Bank into a six storey, 186 bed, luxury hotel. The hotel includes a 100 cover gourmet restaurant

run by the world renowned Chef Albert Roux, adaptable conference and function suite and health and fitness centre. The conversion and extension included 2 basement levels and a new mezzanine floor was added between the ground and first floors.

Elementa’s work on this project included provision of all mechanical and electrical services (including full air conditioning with very high acoustic limitations) and multi-scene programmable feature lighting. Across all the engineering services we delivered, we worked closely with the interior designer and team and sought to match high end aesthetic considerations with the strong functionality, energy efficiency and flexibility required in a contemporary business environment.
