Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Helicon Building
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) are the world’s largest professional body of management accountants with their UK office headquarters located in Central London. As their existing office space spanned multiple floors, CIMA required a larger single floor plate office to improve their current workspace and cater for projected growth.
Elementa were appointed as mechanical, electrical and public health consultants of the 23,000ft² fit out which demanded an immense amount of coordination between the whole design team to complete the project within the requested time frame and ensure CIMA were able to relocate on planned dates.
Due to the lease that CIMA had agreed at the Helicon building, an area was marked out for potential hand back to the landlord after 5 years, therefore Elementa had to ensure that services, where practical, could be reconfigured.
CIMA desired the reception area to be used as a ‘Town Hall’ event space, which presented a particular challenge for Elementa as the fresh air supply from the base build provision was insignificant for this use. Working closely with CIMA and building control, Elementa were able to overcome the issue by establishing the maximum number of occupants for the space and required fresh air rates.
The project was completed on time and CIMA have seamlessly relocated into their new office and embraced their new environment. The flexible meeting spaces and multiple touch down areas have changed how people are interacting and working within the new space.
