Stourbridge Health and Social Care Centre

This centre is a new, purpose-designed, locality-based health and social care centre. The building accommodates a GP surgery, a podiatry, dental practice, pharmacy, social services unit; a primary care outreach centre and treatment facility.

Our work on this project included provision of all mechanical, electrical and above-ground-drainage design. Energy saving strategies included low energy lighting and maximisation of natural daylight; dynamic thermal modelling to utilise the form of the building; and a natural ventilation strategy that ensured the building complied with the NHS’s stringent internal environment policy.

This project followed the successful completion of the Ridge Hill Centre, a unique purpose-designed and built facility providing support to carers, families and individuals with learning disabilities living within the local community. The Brierley Hill Health Centre, a £27m flagship development, was the final project to be delivered in this tranche and completed in December 2009.
