Vladimir Mikler to Discuss Domestic Hot Water Applications at ZebX Workshop
ZebX, or Zero Emissions Building Exchange, provides a platform for the knowledge-exchange of zero emissions buildings in Vancouver, BC and all that it entails. Their upcoming event, “Heat Pumps for Domestic Hot Water Applications: System Options and Case Studies“, will include a workshop as well as discussions surrounding residential Domestic Hot Water Applications and efforts in reducing their energy, load and GHG emissions. The Workshop will be taking place at BC Hydro‘s Head Office in Vancouver, BC.

Vladimir will outline a number of system options for Domestic Hot Water (DHW) applications ranging from distributed to centralized solutions. Vlad will provide an overview of DHW loads in multi-unit residential buildings, equipment components for each system option, costs, and design and operation considerations.

About Vladimir
Vladimir has a passion for designing energy-efficient and environmentally responsive buildings. With 30 years of experience, Vladimir is well-versed in all aspects of sustainable building design and renewable energy technologies. A recognized leader in application of Renewable Energy solutions and technologies, Vladimir has designed a number of unique and innovative systems, including the recent concept for converting Vancouver’s downtown DFPs system into an ambient temperature District Energy System. He is the engineer who developed and coined the “Ambient Temperature” District Energy System concept, and was one of the first engineers who pioneered applications of low-intensity radiant slab heating and cooling systems in North America. Vladimir is one of the two original authors of the Geo-Exchange System Design Guidelines for applications in British Columbia.
