Bishop O’Dowd High School Project Receives Acterra Sustainable Built Environment Award

Bishop O’Dowd High School Center for Environmental Studies was awarded the Acterra Business Environmental Award in the Sustainable Built Environment category.

This zero net energy project features a rainwater capture system, photovoltaic array, site-sourced building materials, and high-performance envelope in addition to many other sustainable design features.  As the home to the environmental science and engineering program, this facility supports and complements the school’s Living Lab, a 4.5-acre ecological study area and wildlife habitat.

Since 1990, Acterra has been celebrating sustainable business practices in the San Francisco Bay Area through its Business Environmental Awards Program.

Congratulations to the entire project team, and all 2017 Acterra Award winners!
