Canadian Rockies International Airport

Located in Cranbrook, BC, the Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC) is situated in the centre of the province, offering locals and visitors in the Columbia Valley access to international destinations. Integral provided mechanical engineering services for the renovation and expansion of the Airport Terminal Building. Key services included feasibility studies for retrofitting mechanical systems with various expansion options.

Spanned over three phases, the complete expansion project covered approximately 25,500 sq. ft. with a construction budget of $7M. Utilizing such features as outdoor air ventilation and radiant floor slab heating and cooling, the new expansion created improvements to arrival and departure, waiting and baggage claim areas. Implemented solutions increased the airport’s ability to efficiently manage larger passenger volumes.
