Elk Grove Aquatic Center
The city of Elk Grove has set aside more than 76 acres of land for a new Civic Center and Community Park. The first phase ovf development for this ambitious project includes an Aquatic Center. This phase of the project has been described by the Assistant City Manager as having a “campus feel,” with a large commons area between the buildings that will host community festivals and a local farmers’ market.
The Aquatic Center will include a 50-meter pool, an instructional pool, and a dedicated recreational pool with a slide.
Integral Group is providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the complex. The Aquatic Center has an all-electric variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling with airside energy recovery. VRF is cost-effective, low-maintenance, and provides a high level of user control. The hot water systems that we designed for the building is also electric, and use air-source heat pumps for reduced energy consumption.
