Musgrove Park Hospital Pathology Department

Following the successful completion of a new Pathology Centre in Taunton, the client requested the same development and design team undertake the remodeling of the old Pathology department within Musgrove Park Hospital, to undertake the acute pathology services which could not be transferred to the larger “Hub” Laboratory.

Located within the heart of the existing hospital site, the project involved the refurbishment and remodeling of part of the existing department, to accommodate the lower demand and technological advances in pathology testing and analyzing equipment, throughout maintaining the operation of the service.

The services installations included the alteration to the existing domestic hot and cold water services, provision of new water conditioning plant, new power and IT distribution throughout, new air conditioning services throughout, alterations to the fresh air ventilation services, and new fire alarm, access control and security systems.
