St. Michael’s Hospital

This project involved the provision of outpatient services, specialist therapy units including physiotherapy, podiatry, speech and language, elective surgery and minor surgery facilities. Diagnostics include X-ray and endoscopy, urgent care incorporating a Rapid Assessment Unit, rehabilitation facilities and in-patient accommodation.

Our work on this project included provision of all mechanical, electrical and above-ground-drainage design. Energy saving strategies included low energy lighting and maximisation of natural daylight; dynamic thermal modelling to utilise the form of the building; and a natural ventilation strategy that ensured the building complied with the NHS’s stringent internal environment policy.
