St. Vincent’s School
St Vincent’s School is situated on a south-facing slope within a conservation area in the green belt with dramatic views over north London, the reconstruction of this new primary school required a real understanding of the customers’ requirements.
Responding to National Curriculum guidelines, the school is organized in two wings that allow for large or small and intimate groups, and is planned to child scale. Ideal classroom environments were created through provision of natural lighting and ventilation, which also ensures low maintenance and running costs.
Underfloor heating was provided throughout, as well as natural ventilation for the warmer months through full height sliding doors – bringing the outside in. Toilets have local ventilation using twin fan units.
