The Gym Group

Elementa were involved in the initial start up of the now very successful budget gym chain, The Gym. The Gym Group aims to provide good quality training environments at an economic membership rate. They use different spaces in high population areas that are unused and fit them out simply to provide a broad range of personnel gym equipment. Using unused offices, warehouses etc presented challenges in itself including integrating/ amending systems into these spaces which were previously used for different purposes.

Elementa developed the scope and specification for the first stage role out and delivered these with the client. The focus for these areas were to be spacious, lots of good quality equipment to cope with the peak uses, bright light environments, good quality hot showers and well ventilated and cooled spaces.

With this in mind, a focus on energy efficient design whilst maximizing the user experience was a priority including high quality efficient lighting design. Attention was given to creating high performance showers whilst reducing unnecessary water usage by focusing on shower head selection and flow regulation whilst not resulting in a low quality shower experience.

The Gym group is now one of the most successful fitness chains in the UK based on our initial roll-out.
